Technical Support:

When you find yourself confronted by software errors that you can not seem to correct yourself, call for help. We are here to help our clients get through these sometimes strange and bizarre "unknown errors" that sometimes haunt us in our everyday lives.

In order to help us serve you better, we need your input and help in solving these system unique riddles. We only have a short amount of time to try and familiarize ourselves with the various software configurations you have added to the system. But there is a list of things you can do to help us speed up your recovery process.

1. Write down a detailed description of the problems at hand. This not only helps clarify what you are trying to fix, but provides us with a quick check list of what problems we are resolving.

2. Explain what went wrong and what programs you were using at the time the error occurred. This allows us to try and do the same things you were doing if we need to recreate the problem. Also if you can recreate the problem consistently let us know. That can save everyone time

3. Write down any error messages or codes that are displayed. For example: Error in module shell32.dll tells us which file might be the problem, and the error codes such as 000a008:00001010 provide us with even more clues to trace out the problem. We do not need the registers information, as we know that writing out the whole thing is tedious. However the first part of the errors is very important.

4. We also like to know if you have added or removed any programs lately. Some programs share files and removing them actually effects other programs in the system. So even if everything says its ok when you remove it, keep in mind it may have effected other programs.

5. Have you restarted the machine lately. Sometimes that will take care of the problem. Some problems are just part of the operating system and software venders each doing there own thing. If you are unsure if its a normal problem, or if you can ignore it, just ask. We will be more than happy to explain what's going on, or if necessary setup an appointment with you to have it looked at.

The more information you are able to provide, the better our technicians will be able to serve you. Even small questions on your part can be a piece to the puzzle to get you up and running again. Feel free to ask questions when you don't understand we are more than happy to guide you to the answers.
